Your AI-generated Reference Process
One of my earliest AI process projects—and I want to share what I learned with you. Soon available as an interactive tool right on this page.
How It Started
At the beginning of GenAI, I asked myself: Can an LLM autonomously generate useful business process reference models? Not as a theoretical exercise, but as a practical tool for everyday work.
The result was a scientific paper, a carefully constructed meta-prompt, and one clear insight: AI-generated processes can work surprisingly well when the prompt architecture is right. Dozens of iterations, countless failures, but in the end a system that delivers consistently.
Now I want to make this knowledge available as a bonus for you: an interactive tool that generates an AI-based reference process from my research—tailored to your industry and requirements.
The Journey
From Research to Tool
Research
Analysis of existing prompt engineering techniques: contextual prompts, in-context learning, and meta-prompting for complex reasoning.
Construction
Development of a multi-stage meta-prompt that systematically guides LLMs toward reference processes—step by step.
Validation
Evaluation against real business processes and existing reference models. Published peer-reviewed.
A bonus for you
The essence as an interactive tool—so you can create AI-generated reference processes yourself.
Learnings
What I Learned
Prompt architecture is everything
A single, well-constructed meta-prompt can drive an LLM to generate standardized reference processes—if the structure is right.
S-BPM as the perfect language
The Subject–Predicate–Object structure is ideal for AI generation: clear, machine-readable, and still intuitive for humans.
Fail Fast, Iterate Faster
The first 20 iterations were garbage. But each one showed what was missing. The final result is a prompt that delivers consistently.
